myFMbutler's Clip Manager Express is a program that allows you to store FileMaker fields, tables, scripts, script steps, custom functions and layout objects in an easy-to-use library.

You can copy and store objects that have been copied to FileMaker's own clipboard, and then re-use them later.

You can also easily make batch changes to the clippings, and then send the updated field, script, custom function or layout back to FileMaker's clipboard.

Product highlights

• Store complete FileMaker fields, tables, scripts, script steps and layouts in an easy-to-use library.
• Send FileMaker elements from your library to the FileMaker clipboard, for easy creation or updating of databases.
• Make batch changes to the clippings either using 'Find & replace' within Clip Manager, or using your preferred text editor, and then send the updated field, script or layout back to FileMaker's clipboard.
• A 'Clip History' option allows you to automatically store all elements that are copied in FileMaker in a Clip History database - you can then later search and retrieve them and store them as separate clip files if you like
• An Inspector window: the Inspector window shows a summary of all objects in your clip.
• The Clip View is a human readable way to see and manipulate your clip.
• File format is compatible with Clip Manager 4.1 for Macintosh

Why no Clip Manager 4.1 for Windows?
Some features of Clip Manager 4.1, like occurrence selector, automation,... , that are almost impossible to build for the Windows version.
Keeping Clip Manager 4.1 cross platform, would limit us in bringing new features for the Mac and for the Windows version. Now that both versions are separated, each can go its own way.
We will ensure that the products can be used in a cross-platform environment. So we will keep the file format of the clips in sync.

System requirements
FileMaker Pro 12/11 Advanced on Windows 7 Ultimate, Professional, Home Premium, Windows Vista Ultimate, Business, Home Premium or Windows XP Professional, Home Edition (Service Pack 3).

Pricing and availability
Clip Manager Express is available today for EUR 59,- or about USD 77,- and EUR 199,- or about USD 262,- for a site license.
A 30-day trial of Clip Manager Express for Windows is available for download on the myFMbutler web site.

We're pleased to release version 2.1 of our PrinterSwitch plug-in. This plug-in allows you to more easily manage printers in your FileMaker solutions.

You can download the new version from our downloads page.

What's new in this version ?

1° New variables in PrSw_PrintSetup

Based on user feedback, we found quite a number of people wanted users to be able to make changes after a PrSw_PrintSetup ("restore|…") had been selected. In this version there is now a new variable that you can optionally call after using the PrSw_PrintSetup ("restore|…") to determine whether a user can override the restored setup or not:
PrSw_PrintSetup("setup_block_user_override")
Will ignore any possible changes a user will make as long as the restore is active, i.e. as long as you haven't called PrSw_PrintSetup("reset").
PrSw_PrintSetup("setup_allow_user_override")
Does allow the user to make changes in either the Page Setup or Print dialog after a PrSw_PrintSetup ("restore|…) - we chose to now make this the default setting.

2° PrSw_PrintDialog("disable") and ("enable") now also on Mac OS X

We found a number of people had problems with the preview not refreshing correctly after performing a restore. In order to also solve this on Mac OS X, we have now implemented the PrSw_PrintDialog("disable") and PrSw_PrintDialog("enable") functions in the same way as they were available on Windows. If you now use the following sequence, the Preview should look fine:

Set Variable [dummy; PrSw_PrintDialog("disable")]
Print Setup[]
Set Variable [dummy; PrSw_PrintDialog("enable")]
Enter Preview Mode [Pause]

This procedure will "trick" FileMaker so that it thinks the page setup dialog has been shown, and thus it will pick up the changed setup.

3° Now integrates new version 4.5 of the Amyuni PDF driver (Windows)

• WHQL Testing and Certification for 32 and 64-bit Windows 2008 and Windows 7
• Improved performance and compatibility with 64-bit applications

4° Compressed printer data strings

Captured printer data will now be compressed on both Windows and Mac OS X to improve restore performance.

We just released version 1.4.4 of our DoSQL plug-in.

myFMbutler DoSQL is a FileMaker Pro plug-in for Windows and Macintosh that allows you to to manipulate FileMaker data from FileMaker calculations. The plug-in uses SQL statements to select, update, create or delete FileMaker records.

What's new in 1.4.4 ?

fixed issues for Mac OS X Lion

support for passing a text string as the parameter to the functions

mFMb_DoSQL_SetColumnSeparator()

mFMb_DoSQL_SetRowSeparator()

the function mFMb_DoSQL_DataType() returns the data type of any field, value or variable. This helps when constructing correct SQL statements, since the new SQL engine is much more strict on data types.
